Down Under Berlin is proud to present the highly topical Australian documentary “The Face of Birth” by Kate Gorman & Gavin Banks!

Come and join us for this extraordinary film about the power of choice that women have in childbirth, an issue that is felt all over Europe and is prevalent in Germany today. The screening will be followed by a discussion with experts on home birth about the state of midwifery in Germany today and the debate around home birth and women’s rights on this subject.

Come join Down Under Berlin as we host this special advanced screening of Berlin Syndrome ahead of its German cinema release at Moviemento Kino!

We can think of no better way to celebrate Australian film than previewing a film by an Australian, shot in Berlin and Australia and starring Australian and German actors. It’s basically the perfect DUB film, plus it’s a thriller so bound to be quite an exciting evening.

Wed, 14 – 18 September 2016 – Aussie & New Zealand Film & Events – Moviemento Kino

We did it! We have just finished our 6th festival edition. Another five days packed with amazing shorts, documentaries, great indie features but also some hits – the German premiere of Wilderpeople…. need we say any more… – lie behind us. It’s been phenomenal with several sessions sold out, fantastic filmmakers in attendance and an overall rise in audience numbers.

Fr, 12 August 2016 – A selection of Down Under Berlin 2015 short films – Mexico

Operación Kino invited audiences in Mexico to enjoy a sample of short films from Down Under Berlin 2015! The event was an excellent opportunity for moviegoers to find out more about the style and some of the recurrent themes that make up the film production in Australia and New Zealand. The program which was curated by Alan McLane Alejo was followed by a discussion.
